A mountainous country, Bhutan is known locally as "Druk Yul" or "Land of the Thunder Dragon", a name reflecting the cultural heritage of the country.
Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Trip Route: Paro Airport - Thimphu - Punakha- Paro Airport.
Paro Airport to Thimphu. On arrival, guestswillbereceivedattheairportbyourrepresentativewhowillbe your tour guide and companion for the whole duration of your tour in Bhutan. Drive to a hotel in Thimphu. Check in at Hotel. Later visit KuenselPhodrang (Buddha point), world’s largest sitting Buddha statue, the statue is 167 feet high. The statue is situated on top of a hill overlooking the city of Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu.
Thimphu Sightseeing & transfer to Paro. After breakfast visit Zilukha Nunnery, Perched on a promontory, overlooking picturesque Tashichho Dzong and Golf course, it is the only nunnery in capital known as ZilukhaAnimDratsang, Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Motithang Takin preserve, also known as the Thimphu Zoo, Simtokha Dzong built in 1627 by ShabdrungNgawang Namgyal, The Institute for Language and Cultural Studies is located here. In the evening drive to Paro. Overnight in Paro.
Excursion to Tiger Nest(Taktsang Monastery). After early breakfast, drive up to the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). The most famous and sacred site among all the places in Bhutan.. The present structure is said to be built in the 15th century but was destroyed by fire in 1998 and has been restored. The walk is about 2 hours till the top through wide pathways which were built during the restoration works. One hourintothe climb there is a tea point from where you get a very good view ofthemonastery, they also serve lunch here. Afternoon: free time for independent activities. Go for a hot stone bath and try out Bhutanese National dress. Overnight in Paro.
Transfer to Paro Airport Airport. Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel & move towards Paro Airport.
