Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.
Lachung is a mountain village close to the Tibetan border, in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. It's divided by the Lachung River. The village is home to the 19th-century Buddhist Lachung Monastery, surrounded by apple orchards. Nearby, the Yumthang Valley's Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary protects many species of rhododendron. The valley is also known for its waterfalls, pine forests and hot springs.
Meeting & Greeting on arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport & transfer to Gangtok (5,410 ft.), Capital of Sikkim. On arrival check in to hotel, free evening. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
After breakfast start for an excursion to Changu Lake (12,312 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms from Gangtok city each way (Starts 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Optional tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14000Ft.) on China Border can also be arranged (Except Mon, Tue) for Indian Nationals only at an additional cost & documents required 7 days prior to departure for Nathula pass. Please note Nathula Pass permits are issued on the day of travel only as per availability and clubbed with other group, once the permit is issued the amount will be non refundable.
After breakfast pick up from hotel & transfer to Lachung (8,075 ft.). En route visit Singhik, Seven Sister Water Falls/Butterfly falls, Chungthang Confluence, check in at Hotel. Overnight stay at Lachung.
After breakfast drive to Yumthang Valley Known as Valley of Flowers (11,910 ft.). On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort. Overnight stay at Lachung. Optional Yumesamdong Valley or Zero Point (Alt 15700 ft.) for Indian tourists only at an additional cost. Lachung to Gangtok, 125kms in 5hrs – Check out from Lachung and drive back to Gangtok (Alt 5550Ft / 1675M) via Chungthang. Check in at hotel by late afternoon. Free evening Overnight at Gangtok.
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey, Tour ends.
